Quartz Countertops
Quartz is made from a combination of crushed quartz (93 %), a hard mineral that forms in clusters, and resin (7 %). It is produced in many colours and patterns, depending on the colorant and how coarsely the quartz is crushed. Quartz countertops offer a number of advantages. First, it is NON-POROUS, meaning your countertops will not stain, and does not require any sealing ever. Secondly, it is HEAT & SCRATCH RESISTANT; vital aspects for a room in which hot pans and sharp knives are the norm. Keep in mind, however, that although quartz offers the most resistance to heat and scratch damage, it is not impervious, and you should never use knives or place hot pots on any countertop surface. Quartz is engineered stone and therefore ideal, as it creates countertops with consistent patterns throughout your kitchen. And, although any seams may still be visible; they do not pose a threat to the material from water pooling, as can happen with laminate tops.
